New Plant for the Production of Electricity from Landfill Biogas

Možura doo Bar has announced a tender for the construction of a new facility that will produce electricity from landfill biogas. This plant will be the first of its kind in this part of Europe. The project follows a feasibility study that confirmed both the ecological and economic benefits of utilizing landfill biogas for power generation. Based on this study, the company has developed the Master Project, which is now ready for tendering.
The project includes the construction of a container-generator set with a capacity of 0.999 MW, which will be connected to a new transformer station. This station will have an output voltage of 0.4/10kV and will link to an existing transformer station through a cable line. The feasibility study also showed that the biogas generated at the landfill is sufficient to produce enough electricity for up to 350 average households.
In addition to the technical plans, the company has also prepared an environmental impact assessment in line with relevant regulations. This document outlines measures to prevent, reduce, or eliminate any potential harmful effects on the environment. It was approved by the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro, ensuring that the project meets all necessary environmental standards.
