Solar power plant in Danilovgrad

In Danilovgrad will be constructed a 40 MW solar power plant, backed by private investors, which will significantly contribute to Montenegro’s renewable energy capacity.

Interest in solar energy continues to grow in Montenegro. This 40 MW facility is backed by private investors and will be built on several cadastral plots in the KO Slap project area. The Government of Montenegro has approved the urban planning and technical conditions for the development of the project.
The solar power plant will consist of 90,909 monocrystalline half-cell panels, each with a maximum power of 550 Wp, giving a total installed capacity of 50 MWp, with a peak power of 40 MW. The photovoltaic system will use hybrid central inverters and will be complemented by a battery energy storage system to enhance efficiency and energy accumulation.
The storage system will have a capacity of 10 MW (25 MWh) and will be integrated into the 110 kV network, following the guidelines set by the relevant authorities. This integration will ensure a stable energy supply and support Montenegro’s growing energy needs through renewable sources.
